San Francisco Sourdough is Heaven

People don’t understand, Boudin sourdough is soooo good! I hadn’t really had sourdough bread until my lovely husband took me on a week long getaway through Northern California. They have a Boudin restaurant where you can actually take a mini tour and learn the beginnings of this lovely bread. The Boudin restaurant and tour is located in Fisherman’s Wharf, which is a super fun place to visit. As you can tell, my husband and I got a yummy bowl of clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.

They have a case where they show you how they served their sourdough bread throughout the years. They have different bread bags.

But then we come to the Mother Dough! The mother dough is where the bread originates from. What makes the Boudin Sourdough bread so good is the San Francisco climate! Believe it or not. It has to do with their fog. If you’ve been to San Francisco, you will know it gets foggy. Definitely need a jacket when you come here.

On the tour there’s a bread basket with a cut up baguette of it for visitors to try.

What also makes this bread so special is the fun shapes they use. I always go for the regular baguette, plus because it’s cheaper. But they have fun shapes like a San Francisco Trolley. That one is super cool. They also have crabs, San Francisco is huge for their dungeness crabs. They have shapes like this cute bear in the picture above. Definitely check this tour out!
