Solvang is a little town hidden away about 3 hours from Los Angeles County. My husband and I love visiting Solvang, it’s such a cute little Danish town. We tend to head that way, have a nice breakfast, walk around the town, get a souvenir and head back to L.A. What we recently came to discover were all the wonderful wineries they have nearby. You can spend a day visiting these vineyards, getting glass of wine, a snack and as a souvenir a couple of bottles of wine to go. Lol. Our first stop was the Sunstone winery in Santa Ynez. The minute you enter this place it’s pure relaxation. The breathtaking hills and the vineyard make it all worth the drive.

When we visited this winery our friends scheduled for us to have a private tasting and tour. The private tasting was in a circular stone back room of the winery building. The room had its walls covered in wines from top to bottom, it was a beautiful site. Our tour guide was a really great guy who gave us history on the Sunstone winery, along with 4 to 5 wine samples. That wine was so smooth! Fragrant! Rich! I loved their wines, whites and reds. After some wine tasting and history our tour guide walked out to where the magic happens. He showed us how the wine is bottled, where it’s stored, and the different kinds of barrels wine makers use to have their wines in. It was awesome.

We also took a walk around the property. We were able to see the vines were starting to grow grapes.

If you find yourself in Santa Ynez, stop by and have a glass of wine!
