So Napa isn’t the only wine country of California. Let’s take a look at Southern California’s wine country. I love Napa, don’t get me wrong, but the drive is a killer and trying to find a cheap hotel up there is like… not easy. You gotta fork over $400 a night if you want to even get something decent close to Napa Valley. So this past year my husband and I have been traveling South to Temecula’s wine country for some good ol Southern Cali wine. Let me tell ya, we were not dissapointed. We traveled to 3 different wineries in the Temecula area and we stayed at the lovely South Coast Plaza which is a winery and resort. They have a great restaurant, with some yummy food and wines, we had dinner there. We visited Del Sol winery, it’s off the winding road, a tad small, but it’s a cute place to visit and do wine tasting. We also visited the miramonte winery which was very cool. It literally looks like an old southern home with a patio and even an area for kids to play at. One thing I noticed is some of these wineries are kid friendly. I saw families bring their kids to have lunch and wine at some of these wineries.

We also took a tour of this super cool winery named Oak Moutain Winery. It has an amazing view. We got tickets on group on, the wine cellar is in a cave. We did 3 tastings with chocolate and cheese. Then we bought a glass off wine each, ordered some appetizers and enjoyed the view outside. They have great outdoor seating overlooking the hills. It’s beautiful. Check them out!
